Lymphedema Therapy

Lymphedema, affecting 2.5 million Americans of all ages, is a disorder that occurs when lymphatic fluid collects in the extremities or other body parts creating abnormal swelling. Although there is no cure for the condition, Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) offers time honored, substantially researched treatment which has been consistently shown to reduce average limb volume by 40-60%. Secondary to the reduction in swelling, patients are able to prevent loss of function in the affected body part, promote wound healing in lesions caused by the swelling and prevent serious infections of bacterial or fungal origin.
